In their DVD, "Let Go of the Wires", the band discussed plans for their next album. The album was to be titled "Glaciers". The band later announced that this would not be the title of their new album. However the explanation for Glaciers is being that with the concept of a glacier, there is always more than meets the eye. Though "iceberg" would be the correct word to fill this idea, "glaciers" could be used in relevance. They also revealed that the album will contain more serious lyrical themes than those of "Wires...and the Concept of Breathing".
On January 8 2009, the band announced, via a Myspace Bulletin, that they were now a part of Fearless Records and to expect a new album release sometime in 2009. They also announced tour dates with Dance Gavin Dance.
On May 26th, A Skylit Drive released a new song, entitled "Those Cannons Could Sink a Ship" onto iTunes and also for play on their MySpace page. The song is the first of their new album to be released on iTunes.
A Skylit Drive is also doing some shows with Escape The Fate, Madina Lake.
Adelphia, peaked at number 64 on the Billboard 200.

We’ve been readers of the music blog scene for years now. We were reading music blogs before everyone had a music blog, and our own music blog wasn’t so much as an iota of thought several years ago. Although our blog is young, we were there to see the rise of Pitchfork and its effect on the scene. We were around when Chris began gorillavsbear and Brian’s been reading Aquarium Drunkard religiously since that site began pumping out MP3’s from Los Angeles. We’re acutely aware of the purposes of online music websites, but this also makes us unfortunately knowledgeable about their drawbacks, too. We dislike the rating system of music reviews, and we’re even more averse to bashing albums. If you’ve been a regular reader of our site, you’ll see that we’ve been churning out full-length album reviews at a rate damn near impossible for three busy writers that have taxing day jobs. With all of the writing and reviewing we’ve done, we’ve yet to bash an album and we’re extremely proud of that here. If an album makes it onto our site, we feel it’s worthy of extensive review and purchase. Consider it our stamp of approval. We get inundated with really bad music daily and we choose to post the best of the best. We “unpack our bags” about why we think albums are good and don’t waste our energy and intelligence on albums that are sub-par. Pitchfork has created an empire both lifting bands out of obscurity but also shattering dreams. That’s not our style here. We can write like those guys, but you won’t find the rants around here.

The central problem, however, is based around an article I read last week about how music blogs serve to rave bands that really aren’t very good and discuss mediocrity as if it was the next Neutral Milk Hotel or Radiohead. This draws my ire big time. The sheer nature of our enterprise here at Citizen Dick is to write about good music and leave the bad music completely out of the equation. If our central job is to become a PR agency for shitty music, we’ve certainly lost brain cells at some point and have lapsed into a completely inconsequential hobby. This idea that the music that bloggers post is overhyped is ludicrous, and certainly doesn’t apply to my reviewing and online writing. I want to smash my Macbook over someone’s head every time I hear this sentiment. The fact remains that noteworthy emerging music deserves discussion, and for every great album that “makes it” there are another fifty excellent records that barely sell enough to warrant enough dough for a second release. We feel our job here is crucially important, and that somebody has to review great records positively and without needless bashing. Some albums you don’t know about are amazing, and we’re here to explain that. This new WAND album coming out on May 19th is one of those albums we sincerely hope you’ll put your ears to in 2009.

James Jackson Toth is a dude I can get into immediately. Formerly known as Wooden Wand, Toth has decided to change things around a bit moniker-wise but the brilliantly simple and dark country blues balladry he’s been known for is still front and center. “Hard Knox” is a 14 track wordy escapade that wickedly haunts you from beginning to end, and the collection of rare B-sides, home recorded tracks, and rarities is so good we can stamp it as excellent immediately. I’ve played the record in its entirety in excess of fifty times since I received it last week, and there isn’t a record in 2009 I’ve given this much attention to. It’s filled with lyrical mastery and ear-pleasing tone. It’s rough and edgy but beautifully transcendent at the same time. The tracks hold up well individually but also mesh together to give you a great inside look at Toth’s muse; It’s heartache and contemplation that drive this thing, and if you’re not listening to “Arriving” as you’re reading, please do that now.

It doesn’t take too long to fall into the album’s tone, as “Arriving” is a dark, dark song with amazingly poetic word-puzzles and imagery about a girl with thick skin. Toth chooses the poetic concept of cataloging, where tone-drenched images are listed with very little explanation. Quips of lyrical brilliance punch you in the face from the first note of this track to the last. Brooding imagery of serpents, decay, worms, fruit, is so well-placed in the track. It’s somewhat narrative, as the evil woman finally reveals, or “arrives” at the end and her ill motives are laid bare. The song rules and Toth’s decision to start with it is wise, as it sets pace and draws the audience completely in.

As mentioned, the poetic structure of this album is loud and clear. Toth knows what he’s doing and he’s incredibly intelligent. “Eyes” may be the best track on the album, and some of the lyrical business is superb. Flying aces, crosshair bows, fugitive liquor, solid snow. Alien strangers, first through seventh row. Images erupt from the song like dandelions in your yard and stick in your craw long afterward. Tracks like “Saturday Delivery” and “Lady of Situation” are more overtly positive and uplifting in their musical arangement, but nearly every track focuses on both the good and bad of our existence. Toth pines in many of these songs about how it’s impossible to go backward and erase the past but the past must be fully embraced to move forward. It might be too late to settle bets beneath the ocean. The dawn awaits.” Warm tones, beautiful acoustic arrangements and pleasing vocals are the standards here.

Toth’s gravelly and hardened vocals are a major reason for this album’s greatness. “Blamelessness” is an edgy and low-fi track where his vocals become deeply ingrained and seared in. Likewise, in “Chrome” Toth makes a simple amplified guitar in a basement sound brilliant. His melodic vocals and well placed double-harmonies bring blues, country, poetry, and edgy alternative vibes to listeners. If there’s any specific track where everything balls into one, it’s “Soldier Movies” at the album’s close. Endearing and softly yearning, Toth emits an aura that’s impossible to forget. The closing track is significant because it brings home the ideal emotional conflict of the entire album. Toth is obviously reminiscing about a rocky past, but seems completely okay with it. There’s a comfort to his lyricism and imagery.

There are 14 tracks on the record to wrap your brain around, and I’ll emphatically state that each one of them exhibits its own unique style and value. This isn’t an album to be missed this year, and to fully let Toth and WAND into your arsenal, you’ve got to spin the whole thing repeatedly. We’re confident this will be a mainstay for you, as it has already become one for me. Enjoy “Arriving” for free and pick this up on release day.

"There's some kind of crazy connection between Michigan and Florida, enough so that the proposed bullet-train / flume ride linking the two states starts to make a hell of a lot of sense, especially when you consider the twenty-some-odd trips to Gainesville NORTH LINCOLN has made from Grand Rapids over the last five years. The eleven songs on "Midwestern Blood" are the culmination of a two-year recording and mixing process. Rob McGregor once again captured the noise at Goldentone Studio, with Derron Nuhfer mixing the beast at Crescendo Sound The trade off captured the best of both worlds. The band took their straight forward, gruff mix of anthemic punk and raspy rock and extended the formula to include instrumental stretches and more space to breathe. Maybe it was too many hours spent listening to Drive Like Jehu? Maybe it was something in the water... or the snow? A few years ago, somebody coined the term "Midwestern beer- belly despair rock" to describe a handful of bands emanating from the greater Illinois/Michigan era, and the moniker couldn't be more aptly fitting for North Lincoln. Hailing from the reeling metropolis of Grand Rapids, deeply rooted in a community that rode the post-industrial wave of collapse and still struggles to keep its head above water, North Lincoln embodies a newer wave of working-class punk rock that ditches the anthemic trappings of Boston and New York and instead builds on the melancholy hymns of luminaries like JAWBREAKER and LEATHERFACE. Broken Promise Keeper is a one-man studio band based in Decatur, Georgia, the coolest part of metro Atlanta.

Frida Hyvönen (born 1977) is a Swedish singer-songwriter. She grew up in Robertsfors, a small place just outside Umeå in the north of Sweden (which is also the hometown of the band Sahara Hotnights), and currently lives in the capital of Sweden, Stockholm.

Her first record, Until Death Comes, was recorded at Stockholm's Atlantis Studios and co-produced with Jari Haapalainen of The Bear Quartet. The record was released in the EU in 2005 on The Concretes record label Licking Fingers, in the United States in 2006 on Secretly Canadian and in Australia in 2007 on Chapter Music. Hyvönen received the 2005 Stockholmspriset ("The Stockholm Prize") by the Swedish publication Nöjesguiden for her debut album. Her first single, "I Drive My Friend", climbed the hit-list in Sweden for a few weeks.
Frida has been touring Scandinavia, Europe and the US with her piano since 2004. She also played in Shanghai. In the spring of 2006 she toured the United Kingdom with José González, and in the summer of 2006, she toured the US with fellow Swedish artist Jens Lekman. In the fall of 2005 Frida wrote music for dance performance PUDEL, by choreographer Dorte Olesen. She also performed the music live on stage. The music was recorded in 2006 and released in January 2007.

In the fall of 2007 Frida recorded a cover of the R.E.M. song "Everybody Hurts", released in digital form by Stereogum She also covered the song "Sista dan tillsammans" together with Mattias Alkberg on "Dubbel Trubbel", a tribute to Olle Adolphson.

Hyvönen's next album, "Silence is Wild", was released October 29, 2008 in Scandinavia and November 4th, 2008 in North America.

She is also working on a collaboration with photographer Elin Berge, in a project that will be out in 2009.

The Sounds are a Swedish New Wave band founded in 1999 in Helsingborg. Their musical style mixes punk and pop/Synth-pop influences. Most songs make integrated use of synthesizers. The group is often compared to New Wave acts such as Blondie, The Cars, the Epoxies and Missing Persons.

Their debut album Living in America was released in 2002, with the follow up Dying to Say This to You on March 21, 2006. They are set to release their third album "Crossing The Rubicon" on June 2, 2009.

Lead singer Maja Ivarsson is outspoken in her ambition, claiming "I want to be the best female vocalist around...of at least this century". She was also featured on Cobra Starship's "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)", for the film Snakes on a Plane. In addition to Ivarsson's contribution to the Snakes soundtrack, the entire band is featured as track 6, "Queen of Apology," remixed by Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump.

Band members Jesper Anderberg and Felix Rodriguez have recently been working as songwriters for other artists, among them the Dutch pop band Krezip and the Swedish punk band Quit Your Dayjob.

For Krezip's latest album (Plug it In), the pair wrote three songs: "All My Life", "Play This Game With Me" and "You're Wrong". "All My Life" has been one of the most played songs of 2008 in Holland. Krezip's album Plug It In was also produced by Adel Dahdal, who produced the The Sounds' debut album Living in America.

The Poodles is more than just your average, run-of-the-mill, rock act.
A distinct group of Sweden's most experienced metal and hard rock musicians have assembled to spread metal to the people. That's the mission of the mighty Poodles from Sweden.
"We want to make people feel good, powerful, and free. In the world we live in, there is an obligation to stand up for what you believe is right. Too many people are trying to control you, so we want to represent something different. We want to inspire our listeners to live life the way they want to without letting conventions rule you." says Jakob, lead singer of The Poodles.
Over the years, the members of the band have worked in different contexts and constellations with international celebrities like Mot?rhead, Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, and Swedish colleagues like Europe and Candlemass.

In the fall of 2005 the first official line-up was completed and in the spring of 2006 The Poodles competed in the Swedish version of the "Eurovision Song Contest", which also marked their big break-through in their native country. The debut album "Metal Will Stand Tall" was released in Sweden & Finland in May 2006 and soon after in Japan by King Records, IROND in Russia and the CIS. It topped the Swedish sales charts, and the debut single "Night Of Passion" sold gold in Sweden after just three weeks. It has now sold platinum and it was also the number one downloaded song three weeks in a row!

The second single from the album was the title track "Metal Will Stand Tall". It featured guest vocals by Tess, member of the disco group Alcazar, who sings in a blistering duet with Jakob and who is also featured in the video clip. It entered the singles chart at number two one week after its’ release, climbed to the number one spot and sold gold after just on month! Also, a third single, "Song For You", was released and hit gold status.

"Metal Will Stand Tall" features songs by some of the most well known songwriters in the world such as Holly Knight (Tina Turner, Aerosmith, Kiss etc) and others.

During 2006 the band played over 100 shows in Sweden and in January 2007 "Metal Will Stand Tall" was released in Europe by AFM Records. Following the release they went on tour across Europe with Hammerfall and Krokus, together they did 31 shows in 18 countries in only 35 days.
On April 25, 2007 The Poodles released "Seven Seas", the first single from their second album "Sweet Trade". Just like the debut album "Metal Will Stand Tall", it was produced by Matti Alfonzetti and Johan Lyander. The song "Seven Seas" was written by Jakob Samuel, Jonas Reingold and Peter Stormare who is also featured as Black Sam - the pirate on the song. (Peter Stormare – the actor in inter alia Prison Break, Fargo and Jurassic Park).
With canons loaded, the sails hoisted for the journey under a dawn sky, the album "Sweet Trade" was released on September 19, 2007 in Sweden as well as in 30 European countries, Russia and Japan, and on October 12 The Poodles embarked on another crusade - showing Europe the sweet trade of heavy metal.

The second single to come off the "Sweet Trade" album, was "Streets of Fire", which raced through the charts to eventually sell double-platinum, the greatest number of sold singles to date by the band.

The fall of 2007 was spent on the roads of Europe, playing hall-size venues as Special guest with Gotthard. The response from the crowd and business associates alike was fantastic. The groundwork was now laid for a headline tour of their own.
In the spring of 2008, the band was once again featured in the Swedish leg of the "Eurovision Song Contest". This time they allied themselves with the well known artist E-Type, a multi-platinum selling act by himself. The song "Line of Fire" was well received and has reached gold status.

Next, The Poodles tried their wings playing a headline tour of their own, with Jaded Heart as Special guest. The tour consisted of 17 sold-out dates throughout Europe with blasting results. Some shows were even moved to bigger venues as a result of the great interest in the band.
As spring turned to summer the band was asked to record and perform the Official Swedish Anthem for the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing in August 2008. "Raise the Banner" was released on July 15 and reached gold status shortly thereafter. The song “Raise the Banner” also hit the number one spot on the Swedish sales-chart in August of 2008.

In May, 2008, Pontus Norgren decided to leave the band. In the wake of this, The Poodles didn’t hesitate to contact the guitar player first considered for the band, Henrik Bergqvist (previsously in Southfork and Tiamat), who now was avalible. Back in 2006, however, he was stuck in the Mexican rain forest among the Mayan Indians and no guitar within a 350 mile radius as well as other obligations hanging over his head. In Henrik, The Poodles found the perfect persona with the right musical qualities and energy for the exiting adventures that lay ahead.

Starting on June 6, which also was Henrik's premiere with the band, The Poodles embarked on one of the biggest Swedish summer tours of any act, playing more than 30 shows in a little over 2 months. From Sweden Rock in the south to Pajala in the north, the band zig-zagged across the Swedish country side like true rock'n'roll demons.

The band also found time to do a couple of summer festival shows in Europe where they realized that all the hard work they put in during 2006 and 2007 was beginning to pay off. Audiences were both numerous and enthusiastic, something the band took home with them in preparation for the new recording effort that awaits in the fall of 2008.

Planned for release in the spring of 2009, the band's third album promises to be something extraordinary. Pay money To my Pain (abbreviated as P.T.P.) are a Japanese Nu metal/Metalcore band. All of the band's lyrics are in English.

After the disbandment of vocalist K's previous band Gundog, in 2005, he recruited four members and formed Pay money To my Pain. They began to produce songs by themselves before getting noticed quickly by the record label, VAP. From there, they released their first major single "Drop of ink" on December 6, 2006.

Several months later, they ventured to California where they recorded their first album, Another day comes, which was released on the September 12, 2007. This album included "Home", the Buzzer Beater ending song, and "Another day comes," the ending song for Ultraseven X.

In May 2008, the band announced on their official MySpace that a new EP was in the works. In June, the EP was finished as Writing in the diary and was released on July 30, 2008.

Anti-normative behavior is expected from most successful artists. There is little reason for them to pay much attention to the Top 40, since worthwhile artists do not derive their material from popular opinion.
It may seem like a bold statement, but there is little purpose in devoting a large amount of time to a songwriter who sounds like everyone else on the radio. Listeners come to expect innovation but there is often a personal struggle for artists that wish to find the middle ground between accustomed accessibility and staggeringinnovation.
This process often cannot be resolved through practice though, as the proper ideology appears to be embedded within the talented scope of an artist whether it is before they start writing songs or not.
If one has a tendency to gravitate toward the unconventional in the early stages of their life, it can provide good indication of such an embedded ideology. When Julian Velard was in his teens and started to become wildly interested in music, one can imagine the social circumstances that surrounded him. Unlike today's auto-tuned R&B and subliminally linear pop music, the 29-year-old experienced the likes of Pavement, Nirvana, and the Pixies when music began to first tickle his ears.
He enjoyed the emerging genres of grunge and indie-rock but, unlike his peers, much of Velard's attention was diverted elsewhere: cabaret-style pop music.

It was inevitable that after releasing such a solid EP that It's Like Love would eventually get signed. Tragic Hero Records became the lucky home for the powerpop quintet back in August of '08 and now five months later, they're releasing their debut album, You're Too Sweet for Rock & Roll.

The aforementioned EP, I'm Selling Your Things, was a synth-driven trip into poppy melodies, catchy hooks and infectious vocals; it reminded me much of early Motion City Soundtrack. You're Too Sweet possesses some of the same qualities present in the EP but still manages to let the listener realize that this isn't the same It's Like Love from over a year and a half ago.

The band shows off their progression with tracks like "Untitled," a mellow acoustic song, and "Without You," the album's slowest song powered by piano throughout. However, songs such as "Devin, Don't Give Up" and "It's Not Me, It's You" (the album's opener) display their Motion City Soundtrack-esque musicianship which their earlier fans have grown accustomed to.

"You Put the Whore in Sorority" takes the band's catchiness to a whole new level as the song's chorus is one of the strongest in the band's catalog and arguably in the genre. It's Like Love also makes the un-surprising move of re-recording tracks from their EP to add to the full-length. The re-recorded tracks, "Keep Your Eyes On Me," "Alcohol Brings Out the Bedroom Eyes," and "So I Lied" may take a bit to warm up to for listeners who were used to the originals as I feel the band took away the zing that made them previously pop.

All in all, it's January; it's cold, and there's not too many things I'd rather do than to sit back with the heat on and listen to some music that reminds me of the Summer months. If you're like me - keep warm and give It's Like Love's You're Too Sweet for Rock & Roll a shot.

Hailing from Los Angeles California, the members of DRIVE A come together to forge a killer mix of pounding drums, lethal guitars, cascading bass lines and fierce vocals that converge to create a sound that pays respect to the past, stands up to the present and will kick down the door to the future. A switchblade to the soft, white underbelly of today's watered-down state of music, DRIVE A are pure, raw energy - on stage and in the studio - which is, after all, what Rock 'N' Roll has always been about.
DRIVE A got its start when lead vocalist/guitarist Bruno Mascolo met rhythm guitarist Jason Nott outside of the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles in the spring of 2007. After discovering they had similar tastes in music, the two began formatting their ideas for a band, developing their own style and a bond was formed. Once they honed their approach, the two of them hooked up with Terry Stirling on drums, a couple of different bass players and began writing songs that had a remarkably developed blend of killer riffs, punk rock hooks, and a raw, Rock ‘N’ Roll gutter-snarl. Jumping in a van, the band took their high-energy live show on the road, performing well over 100 shows in just over a year including various stops on the 2008 Warped Tour, their own tour of the U.S., as well as sharing the stage with the likes of Rise Against, Papa Roach, Stone Temple Pilots, Anti-Flag, Pennywise and Billy Talent among others.
“It’s been amazing to go out and play with some of the bands that have influenced us in one way or another,” says Bruno Mascolo adding, ”I grew up listening to bands like Billy Talent, Anti-Flag, and Rise Against and now we are on the same bill with them, hanging out and seeing everything from the other side.”
Now, with the addition of their new bassist Chris Bowman, Drive A is set to release their debut album, Loss Of Desire. Years removed from the blank generation, generations X and Y, and even generation next, Loss Of Desire picks up the flag for a new generation, their generation, which is being pushed to the brink. Themes of disillusionment, frustration and, at times, anger are perfectly captured on tracks such as “Everyone’s Alone,” “Can’t Sleep It Off,” “Smiling With Hate,” and “It’s Getting Worse.”
“I think what sets us apart from a lot of bands out there right now is the fact that we are experiencing the exact same things as our fans and that’s what our songs are about, says guitarist Jason Nott. Bruno agrees, “The songs on this album are about being frustrated with a lot of things, most of the lyrics I write are personal, but I think anyone listening can relate to them in their own way. I leave it up to them to interpret what they are hearing.”
Produced by Drive A alongside Dennis Hill and Matt Sorum (Guns ‘N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver), Loss Of Desire serves as a sonic testament to what is new, what is now, and what is next, but it is their live show where Drive A will make its stand and they will have plenty of opportunities as the band is getting ready to get back in the van and hit the touring trail once again and they are not looking back.
“Touring is the life’s blood of this band,” says Mascolo. “Recording and everything else is cool, but we are a live band and that is the best way to experience Drive A.”
Already slated to appear on both Bamboozle Right & Left, dates on the Alternative Press Tour as well as slew of other live dates at home in the U.S. and overseas as well, the next year will be a busy one for this band of friends from Southern California. Something that seems to be no problem for Bruno Mascolo:
“This is it, this what I have always wanted to do and its something I love doing, what can be better than that.”

历史可以证明，制度和法律都在变换，现在如果按照清朝的制度，我们的生活依然会很落后（我只是打个比方），历史上的谋杀，篡位......也没有相同的成功概率

所以说所有好的东西可以借鉴，但不可以照搬.....

Another highlight of the album is doubtlessly the mid-tempo rocker “Wiser“ on which EAT THE GUN played their buddy-ace. The song features Henning Wehland (H-Blockx) and Ingo Knollmann (Donots), both friends of the band, and Claus Grabke himself as guest singers while Donots guitarist Guido and Hendrik recorded a guitar duel on top - a great honour for the band.

AIRLESS, founded in 2000, is a classy Hard Rock outfit from Spain imbued with the individualistic guitar skills of Robert Rodrigo. The band debuted for domestic label Vinny Records with a self-titled album in 2002 whilst their follow up, "2nd Round" saw release in 2005 by Lion Music. Now the band is back with “Fight”, an album with a slightly harder edge than before, and a rawer production which better represents their potent live show.

“Fight” is a more direct release than its predecessors and lyrically is a much more personal affair with vocalist Iñaki Lazkano’s words stemming from personal experience. The guitar work of Robert Rodrigo is as impressive as ever, being a veritable feast of guitar tricks and meaty hook filled riffs and a must hear for fans of Eddie Van Halen, Vito Bratta and Neal Schon. “Fight” is another display of guitar greatness from one of Spain’s leading rock guitar authorities. Airless also have the skills of rhythm section members Pako Martinez (drums) and Miguel Manjón (bass) who power the music along with solidity and authority. Fans of bands such as Harem Scarem and modern day Whitesnake will find much to enjoy on the bands third album.

Many other Mandalay songs were featured on cult TV series' including "La Femme Nikita", "Six Feet Under" and "CSI Miami".

The third single "Beautiful" appeared on a number of chillout albums of the time including the world famous compilation series' "cafe del mar (vol 6)" and Hedkandi's "Serve Chilled". As a result Mandalay were invited to headline at the Cafe del mar 2oth anniversary celebrations in Ibiza in 2000. A sunset remix of "Beautiful" was recorded and mixed by Lenny Ibizarre, the leading chillout DJ/musician on the island. The song "Beautiful" went on to win a major advertising campaign (Estee Lauder, featuring Liz Hurley) and was chosen for the title track of German film "Der Eisbar". More recently "Beautiful" was covered by Sarah Brightman and released as the lead single for her hit album "Harem".

Mandalay's 2nd album "Instinct" was co-produced with Andy Bradfield (Everything But the Girl, Future Sound of London, Bjork) and Yoad Nevo (Jem)
".. draws inspiration from jazz and classical music to create resolutely elegant, affecting pop .... lush and expansive, Instinct's musical world is perfectly realised" (MK The Guardian).
The first single from this album "Deep Love" was remixed by Nitin Sawhney and Mandalay went on to support Nitin on his UK/London dates. Performances at Ibza's chillout festivals followed including "Las Dallias" and "Dreamdaze" culminating in a headline performance at The Big Chill UK, Sanctuary Stage.

A third album "Solace" followed, released exclusively in the US comprising a mix of tracks from Mandalay's two existing albums (both previously unavailable in the US) together with an 11 track remix album with contributions from Wagon Christ, Alex Reece and Charlie May. This marked the beginning of a growing success in America where "Solace" Soundscanned over 44,000 copies.

After Mandalay's demise, Nicola's song writing and vocal talents were sought by DJ Tiesto who chose her song "In My Memory" for his forthcoming album. With a deft remix from him, it became the title track and lead single for the album, the success of which led to a live performance by Nicola at the Dutch Music Awards in 2002.

During the last three years she has continued to be sought by artists/musicians/dj's contacting her via the internet and email with requests for possible collaborations and she found herself in the fortunate position of being able to choose who to work with ... and how ... and when ...... she began working on tracks from avant garde composers Hector Zazou, Ryuichi Sakomoto, Lenny Ibizarre and the underground artist & DJ Chris Brann (Wamdue Project, T'paah etc). The resulting album "Passive Aggressive" stands a collection of her favourite collaborations from this time and is the first release on her own label Tempted.

Lunascape sound mixes catchy rhythms, ethereal samples and loops and rock Guitar, blended carefully with smooth melodies and Kyoko's enchanting voice. At the core of Lunascape are musicians Kyoko Baertsoen and Walter Hilhorst.

The duo originally met in 1993 at the Television and Film Academy in Brussels, Belgium and began to fiddle around with covers and some original material. In 1997, Kyoko was offered the spot of lead singer for Hooverphonic and her work with Walter was put on the back burner. After touring Europe extensively with Hooverphonic, Kyoko left the band and returned to her work with Walter; Lunascape was born.

Lunascape landed a record deal in 1998 and singles began to trickle out over the next few years. But it wasn't until 2002 that Lunascape's debut album Reflecting Seyelence was released, showcasing the group's ethereal blend of trip-hop, moody pop, and electronic textures framed by Baertsoen's lush vocals.

While the band was releasing singles in Europe, their first North American exposure came in an unusual way. In 2001, Kyoko starred alongside Harry Shearer in the IMAX 3-D film "Haunted Castle". Kyoko plays the part of The Mother and sings the Lunascape song "Lane Navachi". Kyoko became an underground cult figure. Fans uncovered Lunascape's European catalog and import versions began to sell in the US.

In 2003 Lunascape's fortunes took another unusual turn. Sinead O'Connor teamed up with Delerium's Rhys Fulber for his new project, Conjure One. The first single was a cover of Lunascape's "Tears From The Moon" Kyoko and Walter had worked on the song with famed producer Rick Nowels (Madonna, Dido) in his LA studio. Sinead and Rhys' version went to number 3 on Billboard's Dance Chart and hovered in the Top 5 for several weeks becoming a hallmark of dance clubs throughout the world in the Summer of 2003.

2004 marked Lunascape's return to the studio with their second release Mindstalking, as well as the score for another 3-D-Imax movie, "SOS Planet".

That year, Noir Records released an American compilation of their first two albums in under the name Reminiscence. This disc included remixes of their single "Mindstalking" and several video tracks.

Lunascape's new release is Innerside, twelve stunning new tracks, due out February 26th (February 29th EU). Innerside is also available as a two-disc limited edition release featuring an additional 10 previously unreleased tracks, including several from the tv series Flikken.
Lunascape Innerside: the inside has come outside: haunting melodies, deeply atmospheric soundscapes and Kyoko's angelic voice.

Jason Lytle first wandered into the public consciousness as the principal singer and songwriter for the band Grandaddy. Formed in Modesto, CA in 1992, and eventually consisting of Lytle along with Aaron Burtch, Tim Dryden, Jim Fairchild and Kevin Garcia, the band initially broke through with 1997's Under the Western Freeway and the NME-praised single "Summer Here Kids." Tireless rounds of international touring and mountains of fawning press led to 2003's Sumday, increasing album sales, more touring, more press ,T.V.show appearances, and a slot on the main stage at the Glastonbury festival. The band produced another EP and an album entitled Just Like the Fambly Cat, before disbanding in 2006. Jason has gone on to create music for a number of national and international commercials and has recently finished his first solo album.He currently lives in Montana U.S.A.His interests include hiking in woods, skateboarding in skateparks, bicycling on anything, skiing on mountains,Playing the piano in his living room, and occasionally recording music………….and occasionally playing shows.

Oi Va Voi’s third album ‘Travelling the Face of the Globe’ is the sound of a band absolutely at the top of their game. All the elements that the band has developed over the past five years are realised with new found confidence and independence. The band have returned to their roots, taken control of every aspect of their career and reunited with the Grammy award winning producers of “Laughter Through Tears”, Kevin Bacon and Jonathan Quarmby.

“Travelling The Face of the Globe” opens beautifully with the melancholic yet uplifting ‘Waiting’. Second song; ‘I Know What You Are’, showcases the wonderful, smoky vocals of lead vocalist Bridgette Amofah:“I look up at the sun rising, I know what you are”.
The album unfolds gradually as Steve Levi’s haunting vocal juxtaposes with violinist Anna Phoebe’s soaring violin work beautifully. Here is a band that is completely at ease with themselves and their position in the world of music.

In Amofah Oi Va Voi have found a singer that can use the power of her voice to dramatic effect and yet still remain vulnerable. Elements of Nina Simone and Shirley Bassey combine with a contemporary urban approach to create a sound all her own with the ability to touch and disarm.
On more up tempo songs such as the title track “Travelling The Face Of The Globe” and “Long Way from Home” trumpet player Dave Orchant and Levi play fiery klezmer/gypsy/Balkan lines while Amofah’s vocal and fly on top of the engine of the band’s driving rhythms – Josh Breslaw (drums) and Lucy Shaw’s (bass).

Nik Ammar’s beautiful picking guitar lines on Foggy day echo those found on songs like “7 Brothers” and “Ladino Song” from the “Laughter Through Tears” album.

In true Oi Va Voi tradition the new album also features wonderful guest vocal contributions. Agi Szaloki, who sang the haunting “Dissident” on the group’s second album; “Oi Va Voi” returns to feature on the Yiddish song “S’brent”. Inspired by the folk song of the late 1930s and 40s, “S’brent” tells of the horrors of a burning town whilst elders look on. Szaloki’s Yiddish vocals with their spine-chilling filmic quality drift across the Voi’s beautiful musical canvas.

Oi Va Voi have always been prepared to take risks and rip up the rule book. Legendary French singer Dick Rivers closes the album with the anthemic “Photograph”. His deep, world weary vocal resonates as he plays the part of Emile Zola reminiscing on his struggle to tell the truth of events during the Dreyfus affair 19th century in France.

In “Travelling the Face of the Globe”, Oi Va Voi have finally distilled the lives and influences of 7 Londoners. The band have melted the music of their heritage with the sounds of contemporary London and created songs that will touch and inspire.

Originally from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, Leslie Mills got started in the New York band, To The Moon Alice (A&M) before heading to Nashville for the beginnings of her solo career. She wrote some songs for her own project, and also co-wrote the single Just Like Love for Peter Cetera, along with Rule The World for his album Another Perfect World in 2001.

She signed as a writer to Paul McCartney's publishing company MPL and received an Emmy Nomination for the song On My Own. Atlantic Records put out her debut album Different for Girls in 2003, and she was getting her songs into film soundtracks such as What A Girl Wants and White Oleander. She left Atlantic in 2004, and has since been working on her new album. Leslie is a featured artist as part of the 2009 Yanni Voices tour. Leslie has been writing and recording for the project for the past two years. A PBS Special about Yanni Voices (behind the scenes) began airing in Nov/December 2008. The tour kicked off with a special concert filmed Live at The Forum (Mundo Imperial) in Acapulco Mexico. This will be a television special airing in March 2009 on PBS. The U.S. Tour begins in April 2009.

原來法國電子組合DAT Politics已經出道九年，早年他們玩奏一些Abstract味的Electronica，後來亦曾嘗試過8-Bit舞曲，轉投德國廠牌Chicks On Speed後，他們風格轉趨流行化，新專集《Mad Kit》更是典型Synth-Pop路線。

開場曲《Own Thing Part 1》是首高壓Electro作品，至於續集《Own Thing Part 2》曲調大至相同，不過變成較為輕盈的Synth-Pop，帶點歐陸浪漫色彩。《Freak Me Out》的鏗鏘Synth Riffs和傻氣男女對唱，近似Kitsune出品，而《Bad Dream Machine》那House味前奏像兒童版的Daft Punk，來到有主唱部分時，氣氛歡樂的Synth-Pop舞曲，有如The Human League上身。

《Magnetic Attraction》的頗皮Punky女聲，令人想起Shampoo、Bis等90年代中期的英國Pop Punk聲音。

DAT Politics愈老愈可愛，《The Wire》雜誌形容《Mad Kit》為「Bis翻玩Kraftwerk歌曲」，如此開心可愛的電子流行曲，的確貼切。

The band originally started by Fredrik Klingwall as a one-man project under the name Shadow of the Concealed. Released one demo and then changed name into Rising Shadows in 1997. After a couple of demos the project was more or less on hold until vocalist Linda-li joined in 2004 and the new demo Horror Vacui was created.

In 2006 their first album Falling Deep Within was released by Twilight Records. The album featured songs rich with medieval and nordic folk influences. They also appeared on two compilation issued by fantasy label Waerloga Records.

For the recordings of the second album Found In The Cold in 2008 they were joined by former Katatonia bassist Guillaume Le Huche.

Meindert Talma is a Dutch singer and keyboardist. He sings in Dutch as well as West Frisian, German and English. Rising out of the island of Malta, Abysmal Torment emerged as a violent death grind bullet destined to spread ear crushing brutality. Proud to stick to its roots, Abysmal Torment started late 2000 though under the name Molested. Although undergoing various line up changes, Abysmal Torment hit the stage for the first time in 2002. After a massive response, the band never looked back and shared the stage with various local and foreign bands. With a burning ambition to spread their sick music to a wider audience Abysmal Torment hit the studios for the first time in 2004 to record their debut MCD entitled INSICED WOUND SUICIDE, consisting of five “drum kit mashing, guitar shredding, vocal chord wrecking ultra fucking brutal death metal” tracks. This proved to be a new fresh start for Abysmal Torment as they started building up a positive reputation world wide, receiving many encouraging reviews and nothing less than a 3 year album deal with underground label Brutal Bands (US). Their first release under brutal bands was the re-release of Incised Wound Suicide. Musically Abysmal Torment relies on speed stimulated tempos, breakdowns and a dual assault of varying gurgling vocals. A glance at the lyrical content illustrates that there is no ordinary gory mentality at work here and the knowledgeable treatment of the subject matters add more depth to the Abysmal Torment mix. The band had been writing new material since the recording of their MCD and 2005 proved to be no exception but another hard-working year for the band as they came up with 10 brand new tracks which were recorded at Temple Studios (Malta) together with producer/engineer David Vella. This 45 minute assault of aural butchery was to be the bands first full length album entitled EPOCH OF METHODIC CARNAGE, featuring artwork from extremely talented Tony Koehl. The album was released through Brutal Bands in February 2006. This was to be distributed through all major labels in Europe, US and the rest of the world destined to take the band to the next level.

Summer 2006 was a huge dissapointment for Abysmal Torment as we had to cancel our full blown american tour w/BENEATH THE MASSACRE, NEURAXIS and VICTIMAS were we also had festivals such as THE GATHERING OF THE SICK and CENTRAL ILLINIOS METAL FEST. These all had to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control!!
New material began to take shape throughout early 2006/7, as well as opportunities for touring. After heading to Italy for the SOUTH EXTREEM NOISE FESTIVAL in Summer 2007, Abysmal Torment invaded Europe with a 23 date tour in nothing less than 12 COUNTRIES together with Sanatorium in Oct/Nov, exposing the band to many new fans and headlining fests such as the LUDWIGSHAFEN DEATHFEST, SLOVAK DEATHFEST and LUZERN DEATHFEST. A short while after this tour Abysmal Torment flew to Holland to headline yet another deathfest, the DRACHTEN DEATHFEST.

2008 was another hardworking year which saw the band record their 3rd and highly anticipated album, OMNICIDE, plus appearing in a number of shows and also headlining the HELLVETIA FESTIVAL in Switzerland. Omnicide was then released and distributed world wide under Brutal Bands in April 2009.

Abysmal Torment are currently writing new explosive material which will be recorded later on this year, plus playing in a number of live shows supporting the release of OMNICIDE such as the NRW DEATHFEST in Germany.

The band will continue to spread this extreme music and continue to pummel all horizons…welcome to Abysmal Torment’s world.

Am 23.12.1984 wurde ich in Indien geboren und mit einem Jahr von meinen Adoptiveltern Erika und Raimund Demetz aus Wolkenstein in Gröden adoptiert. Sie schenkten mir im Herzen der Dolomiten ein neues Zuhause. Dafür werde ich ihnen immer unendlich dankbar sein. Bald entdeckte ich dann meine Liebe zur Musik und das Singen wurde zu meiner größten Leidenschaft und zum Ausdruck meiner Lebensfreude. Mit 7 Jahren nahm ich am internationalen Kinderfestival „Zecchino d‘Oro“ teil, trat dann dem „Cor di Mutons de Selva“ bei und auf der CD „Bon Nadel“ konnte man erstmals meine Stimme hören. 2002 durfte ich dank meines Produzenten Luis Stuflesser im Kongresszentrum Wolkenstein meine erste Solo-CD „Alles was von Herzen kommt“ vorstellen. Meine Lieder verstehen sich als musikalischer Brückenschlag zwischen Volksmusik und volkstümlichem Schlager und sind ein Wechselspiel von romantisch sanften Balladen und rhythmisch eingängigen Schlagermelodien. Nach mehreren regionalen Auftritten im Pustertal wurde mein Auftritt auf dem Open-Air der Kastelruther Spatzen am 15.06.2002 in Kastelruth vor 7.000 Zuschauern zum Höhepunkt meiner damals noch jungen Karriere.

Faryl Smith (born 1995 in Kettering, England) is an English child singer from Kettering who rose to fame after auditioning for the second series of the ITV television talent show Britain's Got Talent in 2008, performing as a mezzo-soprano. She received praise throughout the competition, and although she was the favourite to win after the second round, she finished outside the top three in the live final on the 31 May. She was born in Khorchin district, big grassland, and east direction of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Her mother is dancer and father is wrestling coach (Greco Roman Type) and expert player of string that is Mongolian’s traditional instrument. When child, she grew up with monad of Khorchin district. At the same time of studying Morin khuur, she made band which members were students. She was a leader, singer and Morin khuur player. Other members were drum, bass and keyboard players. 五岁的时候，依拉娜随父母迁至原籍兰州，六岁开始接触马头琴。虽然当时身边充斥着钢琴，小提琴，扬琴和古筝等各式各样的乐器，依娜拉却选择了比较小众的马头琴。一来是因为马头琴是自己故乡的代表乐器，二来马头琴的女性演奏家有如凤毛麟角。于是，怀抱着成为著名马头琴演奏家梦想的依拉娜开始致力于练习，很快便在“兰州青少年音乐会演”中获得冠军，逐渐崭露头角。

小学毕业后的依拉娜为了更好地学习马头琴，只身前往内蒙古自治区首府呼和浩特，就读于著名的“内蒙古大学艺术学院附中”。在入学考试的时候，依拉娜的演奏实力就受到了各方注目，因此刚刚入学就在学校内小有名气了。在校期间，依拉娜师从马头琴巨匠达尔玛，并作为学校代表在“昭君音乐节”登台演出。一边学习马头琴的同时，依拉娜还在学校内部组建乐队，自己担任主唱和马头琴演奏，并与吉他，西洋鼓，贝司，键盘等元素相结合，开展了各种各样的音乐演奏活动。

2001年
继初来日本之后数度来日，与在日本发展的蒙古族歌手乌德巴多次同台演出。

2004年2月
参于聚集了亚洲女性音乐家的CD专辑“ASIAN MUSE 亜细亜的女神”（东芝EMI）的录制工作。同年9月开始在日本固定活动。

2005年4月
在哥伦比亚唱片公司发行了出道大碟“美丽的大草原”。

2007年
参于角川映画电影公司作品“苍き狼”印象大碟的录制工作。同年7月、作为特邀嘉宾参加了在马来西亚举办的吉隆坡国际音乐节。8月，应邀作为在海外发展的内蒙古音乐家代表参加内蒙古自治区成立60周年纪念庆典并在庆典上演奏。这次演出通过卫星广播传遍中国全境，这个在日本活跃的马头琴少女开始受到更多人的关注。

2008年2月14日
瞩目的第二张原创大碟于百代唱片公司发行。依拉娜将逐渐成为不仅仅在日本，中国，乃至在世界各地都备受期待的音乐家。

Zeitgeist Zero have been described as one of the most exciting and fastest growing bands in the alternative music scene. Influences include everything from the big band jazz of Al Bowlly and the blues of Bessie Smith through to the rock 'n' roll of the 50's, punk and new wave bands of the late 70's through to the electronics of Depeche Mode and the Prodigy through to the metal of Danzig and Rammstein. Often compared to Blondie or early Garbage, Zeitgeist Zero play edgy, progressive music with a rock 'n' roll attitude. Lyrically personal experiences are drawn upon to write original, emotional songs whilst maintaining a balance of catchy hooks and sing-a-long melodies. Teresa Dead (Vocals) and Corin Zero (Guitars, Synths, Programming) formed Zeitgeist Zero in early 2003. They were later joined by Kerry Von Null (Keyboards, Drums, Backing Vocals) and quickly gained a reputation for their exciting and energetic live shows. Over the next two years they played numerous shows throughout the UK and appeared on both 'Sick Twisted Individual - Volume 1' and 'Dark Salvation - Volume 1' compilations. 2005 saw the band release their self produced debut album to international critical acclaim, leading to appearances along with cover disc tracks in several international magazines including; Sonic Seducer, Zillo, Kaleidoscope, Unscene, Devolution, Insomnia and TWF. The same year, the band were also interviewed live on Crush FM and interviewed by the renowned journalist/music author Mick Mercer as well as appearing at the ground breaking Beyond The Veil III festival in their hometown of Leeds, UK.

In 2006 Zeitgeist Zero kept up the pace with several more radio interviews including BBC Radio 6 and Dark Assimilation, followed by a string of festival appearances including the huge Wave Gotik Treffen (150 bands , 25,000 people) in Leipzig, Carnival of Souls in Derby and Woolstock in Leeds. Continuing into 2007 with appearances at Dark City Festival in Edinburgh & Gotham Festival at the Islington Academy, London, the band have maintained an outstanding reputation for winning audiences over with their energy and passion. In 2007 the band added live video projection to their stage show to create an intense, audio-visual experience leaving audiences transfixed.

In 2008 the band recorded their second album "Dead To The World" enlisting the skills of John Fryer (HIM, NIN) to mix and John Dent (Goldfrapp) for mastering. With an increased confidence and a superior recording quality and technique the second album revels in the glamour of the 40's and 50's with eye-catching photography and album design.

In late 2008 the band were joined by Bex Noire on bass guitar and backing vocals and in early 2009 James Grave replaced Kerry on synths and backing vocals.

In April 2009 Zeitgeist Zero launched their second album “Dead To The World,” were featured in the book “Music to Die For” by Mick Mercer and confirmed to play the main venue at the legendary Whitby Gothic Weekend in the same month.

The Flea Market Poets are an eclectic American rock band with roots in Austin (TX) and Baltimore (MD). The band consists of Jason Serious on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards, Christian Chapman on drums, Michael Behnke on bass, Brian Reno on guitars and synths, Grainne McMenamin on backing vocals and Dylan Masells on guitars, bass and percussion. The Poets play a melodic brand of rock occasionally crossing over into Punk and Americana. Think: Radiohead jamming with Wilco down the pub, Eddie Vedder bumping into Beck at the corner store, the Ramones in a knitting circle with Neil Young (he does knit, we are assured). Known for versatility and intuitive songwriting, the band can capture and engage diverse audiences, in rock clubs and festivals as well as in more intimate unplugged settings. In 2007 the band caught the attention of Brit Award winning producer Pete Briquette (Bob Geldof, the Frames, Tricky) who then went on to produce their first single “Captain Nate” which is continually growing in popularity on iTunes. Briquette in turn introduced Bob Geldof to the Poets and their music and he is now regarded as one of the band’s most high-profile fans. After a successful mini-tour of German cities in 2008, culminating in their very well received performance at the Tollwood Summer Festival in Munich, the band went back into the studio to finish their debut album Dirty Days. The album will be distributed in Europe by Rough Trade and will be available in stores and online from March, 2009.

About Black Stone Cherry
Deep down in Louisiana, close to New Orleans, rang like a Sunday morning church bell, calling on saints and sinners alike to free their minds and become part of the revolution. They came out of the Southern swamps, the California desert, the working class towns of the Midwest and all along the East Coast. Loud guitars and larger than life drumming came together with storytelling poetry. Rebel-ism gave birth to rock “n’ roll. Every few years or so, a special batch comes up from the ground, to serve as a beacon. Black Stone Cherry has arrived with their second Roadrunner Records release, Folklore and Superstition due out August 19.

"There is a mystique with folklore and superstition," says Black Stone Cherry drummer John Fred Young. "We're intrigued by and interested in history, roots and heritage, and we incorporate that into the band." The ability to tell compelling stories and lyrical tales isn't the only thing that Black Stone Cherry brings to the table. The band can churn out riffs that'll put hair on your chest. They crank out choruses that are fit for a fist-raising rebel rousing and still keep the beauty of a Sunday morning back porch service. Folklore and Superstition isn't just a Southern rock record. It's an American rock n’ roll record.

The album is a timeless work by American pied pipers destined to take their music from the back roads of America to the four corners of the globe. "We are taking Southern tradition and giving a taste to the rest of the world," says bassist/vocalist Jon Lawhon.
Black Stone Cherry didn't stray too far away from home to record the album. The band wrote all the songs in the infamous Practice House, an old farmhouse used by John Fred’s father and uncle to write Grammy winning albums for The Kentucky Headhunters. A song like “Soul Creek” fills the room with its vintage arena rock sound yet was born where the band held bonfires around a creek across the road.

The band enlisted famed rock producer Bob Marlette (Ozzy, Shinedown) and headed to Nashville’s Blackbird Studio that has housed everyone from Kid Rock to The Raconteurs, just 85 miles from their hometown of Edmonton, Kentucky. “We incorporated regional sounds into the mix throughout the album,” says Young. The band used turkey calls, a banjo and a washtub basin, among other things. Jon Lawhon recalls, "I made a washtub bass out of a tub, a broom handle and nylon rope!" Clearly, the band shyed away from absolutely nothing when it came time to explore and experiment. "We didn't want to leave any door unopened while recording," says guitarist/vocalist Ben Wells.

Years of touring in support of their self-titled debut helped inspire and direct Black Stone Cherry's worldview when it came time to write the new album. The band traveled extensively outside the United States during the tour cycle on their 2006 self-titled debut. This allowed them to stretch their creative muscle and flap their musical wings even higher, with songs like "Please Come In" and “Sunrise” that show the band's growth and diversity.

"This album has allowed us to dig deep into our roots," continues Young. "It also shows the influences of the songwriting. Our band is a positive band and we try to write songs that are uplifting. We also have a very big storytelling side which comes through on the songs 'Ghost of Floyd Collins’ and ‘Reverend Wrinkle.’"

Vocalist/guitarist Chris Robertson reflects on the process, saying, “Starting out as a band seven years ago, with high hopes and even bigger dreams, I honestly believe this record shows the experience of our past travels, and gives a hint of the future. It captures all the energy and heart that make up Black Stone Cherry. We took some chances on this album and I believe that our fans will appreciate seeing the other sides of the band that they may or may not have known existed.”

Guitarist/vocalist Ben Wells comments on the band’s expansion of its sound and subject matter, saying "The songwriting took on a life of its own, as the structures of the songs themselves have grown so much from touring. We have so much more to talk about and can use the things we picked up musically.” He admits the band also kept the ladies in mind this time around, recalling, “On the last album, girls would come up to us and say, 'You have songs for guys, so where are our songs?’ So we have a song called 'You' on this album, which is a timeless ballad."

The band’s family and friends are another influence. "Long Sleeves" is told from the viewpoint of a friend who took part in the battle of Mogadishu as featured in the film “Black Hawk Down,” while "Things My Father Said" is a ballad that hits home with people from all walks of life.

From the eerie swagger of “Devil’s Queen” to the tell tale rocker “Blind Man” to the triumphant stomp of the anthem “Soul Creek,” Black Stone Cherry say the trick to Folklore and Superstition is simply brotherhood, family, friends and home; no more, no less.

Ania Stepniewska is a vocalist from Poland. In 2002, after graduating from a secondary music school, where she had played the piano, Anna was admitted to The Jazz and Popular Music Department of Musical Academy in Katowice, Poland. In June 2006 she finished her vocal studies and graduated from the Academy. In October 2006, Anna won The Vocal Competition of The Fifth International Jazz Struggle in Szczecin, Poland. International jury, including musicians form the States: saxophonist Billy Harper and vocalist Judy Bady, and, representing Poland, Miecz Szczesniak, decided to give her the main prize, which was a contract for an own record. Anna is the laureate of The International Jazz Vocalists’ Meetings in Zamosc, Poland, in 2001, she also received an Individual Prize during the 32nd Old Jazz Meeting Festival in Ilawa, Poland, in 2002. She also took part in some musical events abroad, e.g.: Blue Boat Jazz Festival 2005 (Rugen, Germany), Saulkrasti Jazz Festival 2006 (Latvia). Cooperating with RGG Trio she has performed on Smart Jazzpol Festival and NewCooperation Jazz Festival. Anna Stepniewska is not only a jazz vocalist. Bif Naked (born Beth Torbert on June 15, 1971) is a Juno Award-winning Canadian rock singer-songwriter, poet, cartoonist, and actress.

Bif Naked was born in New Delhi, India to teenage parents attending private school. She was subsequently adopted by American missionaries.She spent part of her childhood in Lexington, Kentucky, where her father was a professor at the University of Kentucky. After living for a time in Dauphin, Manitoba, her family eventually settled in Winnipeg.She graduated from John Taylor Collegiate and studied theatre at the University of Winnipeg.

A noted poet, she has also released a spoken word album. She is heavily tattooed, getting her first, an Egyptian Eye of Horus, when she was 16. Her tattoos include a symbol of the Tao, Japanese writing, Buddhist poetry and images (such as the Bodhisattva), and Hindu imagery, she has stated on MTV that her favorite tattoo, on her left arm, reads "Survivor." Naked is also a comic cartoonist.

Bif Naked has always been frank about her bisexuality, and the lyrics of her autobiographical songs (such as her 1995 hit "Everything") detail her attractions to and relationships with men and women. She is also a strict raw food vegan for health (as opposed to ethical or religious) reasons. She identifies as straight edge.

She was diagnosed with a heart aneurysm, but corrective surgery was ruled out. Her song "Everyday," from her album Superbeautifulmonster, is in part a response to that experience. Bif married her drummer, became pregnant, and later had an abortion. She wrote the song "Chotee" afterwards, with lyrics such as "So long my baby...". However, her song "Moment of Weakness" was about a man she vacationed with in Mexico. Bif married Vancouver Sun sports writer Ian Walker in a traditional church ceremony in Vancouver on September 29, 2007. In January 2008, she announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and is scheduled for a lumpectomy, to be followed by chemotherapy. Bif Naked blogs on MySpace about politics, her personal life, and dealing with cancer.

The track "A#1 Roller Rager" will be released as a single on May 4th in the United Kingdom. "Hellions On Parade" was released on April 21st in the United States, however, the track became available to download for free on April 15th from Roadrunner Record's website. A video shoot for "A#1 Roller Rager" took place on April 20th, in Aston, Pennsylvania.

The Paristetris Project was set up in 2008, to be exact, in thesecond half of that year. Candelaria Saenz Valiente, Marcin Maseckiand Macio Moretti got together and combined their efforts to recordan album with guest features by an array of excellentinstrumentalists, like Kuba Kossak on bassoon, Bartek Magneto onguitar, djLenar on turntables, or Kuba Jezierski on trumpet, thelast of which was also responsible for the visual realization ofthe record and the concept of the band bloodcurdling logo.

Without pressure or stress (breaks for lunch and dinner), thematerial was recorded by Zofia Go biowska in a (close to) suburbanresidence of the Morecki family and partly in Buenos Aires andWashington. The obtained recordings were then sent to the Nagrywexstudio in Otwock, and it was the time for Tomasz Duda to take careof them, mixing what needed to be mixed, passing it all to theStudio 333, where with a zillion of technical devices and onereel-to-reel tape recorder Bart miej Ku iak gave it a finalmastering. And this is where the story ends.

Narcotic Fields started activity in summer 2006 in two people - Tereza Kopecka (vocal) and Tomas Bayer (rest). The first concert passed at 27th January in the Nora club (Kop?ivnice), than the band has expanded into six musicians, because we needed to give much more power to the people on the performances.

So far, the Narcotic Fields were honored to play with such bands as: Khoiba, Kill The Dandies, Lealoo, Roe-Deer, Prostitutes, Ja Taky, Soil, Bullerbyne, Scandals (DE), Na?eva+DJ Five etc.
